“Sorry, you ate my cat.”
Our favorite nerd group is back and so is the 80’s nostalgia! With the first season being so great it’s incredibly hard to better. There’s a lot to like from the second season and while good it has its flaws. Let’s talk about the good before the bad: The kids have so much more chemistry with each other and same with the rest of the cast. There’s ton of intense moments with great effects. With nine entertaining episodes it’s easy to binge through it in one day instead of thirteen which, of course takes so much longer. Now the problems I had with this season doesn’t mean I hate it, just means there’s some things I found odd about it. The romance between Nancy and Jonathon was great at moments but then got old. We understand they can’t be together, so why the writers trying to ship them is beyond me. The new characters Max and Billy didn’t make any sense. They served no purpose only to cause problems. I rather liked Bob a lot more than the Mayfield siblings. There are moments that can be slow or boring mostly from uninteresting scenes. That was most of everything I could think of but what makes this season not just mediocre is for giving all the characters something to do. I found Eleven’s subplot better than Nancy’s. The show is more than just a monster show. It’s just like a Stephen King story formula. It’s about friendship, being who you are, and most importantly growing up. I enjoyed the season even though it wasn’t as great as the first; it definitely was a pretty good season. How the finale wraps up is perfect! We all know they will make another season.
